Greetings and a warm welcome to Mahatma Gandhi Government Engineering College Kotla (Jeori), Teh.-Rampur, District- Shimla (HP). MGGEC Kotla (Jeori) is the fourth Government Engineering College of Himachal Pradesh established in the year 2015. The foundation stone of the college was laid on 15th November 2015, at Kotla (Jeori), Teh.-Rampur, District- Shimla (HP). Presently, the college is having its temporary campus at Jawaharlal Nehru Government Engineering College (JNGEC) Sundernagar, Distt.-Mandi (HP) Himachal Pradesh. This college is an off campus college of H. P. Technical University, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. Construction work of three blocks namely Administrative block, Civil Engg. block, & Mechanical Engg. block was started in the month of May, 2017. The College is having qualified faculty in Applied Science and Humanities, Civil,& Mechanical Engineering Departments.
Initially, the college is offering two B. Tech. Programmes in branches, viz., Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering with sanctioned strength of 60 students in each branch. More courses shall be added in due course of time. At present, institute is using Laboratiories, Workshops, Library, & other facilities of JN Govt. Engineering College, Sundernagar.
We, at MGGEC, Jeori are committed to impart quality Technical Education. We are training students for job oriented courses and it gives them the ability to create new solutions to the worldly problems. Engineering and Technology have been driving force to enable any developing country to become developed. Each of us must deliver to best of our potential to build an India that will be a super power of the future. Keeping this in mind, the college is geared up to produce engineers who will not only be providing innovative solutions for industry but will also be holistic human beings.
I hope that new entrants would use this great opportunity to realize their potential and bring out best within them. I am sure that the excellent academic environment, augmented by good facilities and the opportunity to participate in extra-co-curricular activities will help students in developing their personality along with their all-round development.
