Red Ribbon Club has been established in this institution under National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) . Red Ribbon clubs are envisaged to insist among all students in the institution values of service, develop healthy life style and adequate quantities of blood to all the needy peoples and increase Awareness on AIDS and its related issues.
OBJECTIVES:
The objectives of the Red Ribbon Club are as under-
- To spread awareness and induce the spirit in youth to help and support the HIV/AIDS people.
- To motivate and promote voluntarily blood donation.
- To motivate youth and build their capacity to developing their skills on leadership, negotiation, and strong team building.
- To aware about sexual health including RTI/STI and HIV/AIDS.
- To Organise Competition like:- Poster Making, Slogan Writing, Essay Writing.
- Proposed Activities:- Skits, Declamation Contest , Quiz, etc.
International Youth Day
Mahatma Gandhi Government Engineering College celebrated Youth Day with great enthusiasm under the Red Ribbon Club, aiming to promote social awareness, leadership, and positive energy among youth. The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony by dignitaries and was graced by distinguished guests from NGOs, health departments, and local ASHA workers. The programme featured cultural performances, a declamation competition, songs, a pledge on HIV awareness, and an awareness session on health and social issues. Special guests included Ms. Pratibha Kumari (President, NGO Association of Social Health) and Mrs. Bindu (Mahatma Gandhi Government Hospital, Khaneri, Rampur), along with other eminent personalities.
